Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

I have recently gotten a Divorce from my ex-husband and I am currently living in the Family Home.

I received a letter from the Mortgage Company's lawyers saying "Per your request information about recaptioning the loan is as follows". the letter goes on to state that 8,000 dollars needs to be paid in the next couple of days. I would like to know if my ex husband initiate this or was it it the Mortgage Company. Can you explain what is recaptioning and my legal rights.

Thank You

Michael Hendrickson Law Office Michael E. Hendrickson

Based upon these few paltry facts and a quote from a single letter, no, I cannot explain anything connected to this matter in any meaningful and reliable way (let alone what your legal rights may be).

I would therefore suggest that you schedule a consultation with either the attorney whom (hopefully) you had representing you in your divorce

or another lawyer who handles domestic relations matters in the Commonwealth

and who can review your divorce paperwork along with the relevant facts concerning the issue and who then should be able to further advise you in this matter.
