Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

Refinancing Bad Service

I applied for a refinance on early this June. The broker sent me a good faith estimate and I told him to lock the rate and filled in some applications form to him. But after that, he seldom returned my calls about my application. Recently he told me he locked the rate again on late July and will close the loan on late Aug. But I felt that I didn't get appropriate service during the whole time and the process last way too long. My question is that can I not to do this refinance application; if I don't do it, is there any obligation, such as fees or interest rate for loan locking period?

Thanks.

Re: Refinancing Bad Service

It all depends upon what your contract to refinance says about the issues you have raised.

You may need to consult an attorney to review the contract and to clarify for you what the probable

consequences might be if you attempted to back out of it now.
