Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

How to register a second mortgage

A friend has made me a loan, that is to be secured by my

real estate. We have had a promissory note notarized,

but we don't know what forms have to be registered,

at the courthouse. They weren't much help down there.

The title company can do it for fifty bucks, but i'd rather do it myself if possible. Thanks for any help. I have the

deed of trust.

Re: How to register a second mortgage

Go to the land records section of the circuit court in the jurisdiction where the property is located. Tell the clerk that you want to record

your deed of trust and would appreciate any guidance which the clerk's office can offer.
