Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia
My roommate threw away about 350 dollars worth of my property(expensive computer parts) when he and I moved out of our apartment last month. I asked him to reimburse me for the parts, but he claimed that I'd abandoned them and that I should have made it clear that I wanted them before he threw them away. I have receipts showing that I bought the parts as well as chat transcripts of him admitting he threw them away. If I take this to small claims court, how can I best refute his argument that I abandoned it?

Have admitted into evidence a copy of an email or other writing you may have sent him that made very clear "that [you] wanted them before he
threw them away."
