Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

Sales contract

I signed a six month sales contract with a real estate agent to sell my home. I have changed my mind and want to know if I can get out of it. My sister told me that I can remove the house from the market, but it would still be under contract. I would just have to wait till the contract ran out before I was actually released. Is this true? Can I do this without being sued by the agent?

Re: Sales contract

You should very carefully scrutinize the terms of your agreement with the agent which should contain the answer to your question. If you're having difficulty in understanding its import, then take it to an attorney for assistance.
