Security Deposit
My landlord is saying that my deposit is nonrefundable because I have given my 30 days notice before I have lived there for 30 days. I signed a 6 month lease on Jan 16, and gave 30 days notice on Feb 7. There is nothing stated in the lease of penalty because of early termination of the lease. I think my deposit should be refunded. Am I right or is he?

You are obligated for the rent for the full 6 months unless the lease says something to the contrary. However, the landlord may have a duty to try to re-lease the space. Chances are you will be liable for the deposit the Landlord is holding and more.
