seller canceled appraisal

put offer on a property was not satisfied with the home inspection wanted to cancel the contract buyer claims there was no inspection contigency we say there is. long story short been fighting with them for about a month now received letter from there attorney stating we must go through with the contract so i restarted the loan as a investment property(cannot live in that house) when appraiser called to say he was coming by the seller would not let him telling him the contract fell through. yet they still want us to buy or give them 5,000 to sign release of contract

So, what is your question? Apparenty, if, as you say, you "restarted" the loan on this dubious property, then you want to buy it. If the only reason that you undertook this action is because some lawyer sent you a letter saying that

you were obligated to go through with the purchase, you were very foolish to do so if in fact you didn't want to buy it under the circumstances which you've described.
