Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

My sister vave my other sister and I her dog. We had the dog for 3 years. SHe stole the dog from us and gave him to a lady (who has had him for 2 weeks) and the lady will not give him back. What can we do?

You can go down to the clerk's office (civil division)of your local general district court and tell one of the clerks there that you want to file what's called a Warrant in Detinue against this lady for the return of your personal property(the dog).
