My tenant in Prince William County, VA has not paid rent in over 3 months. I asked her to move out without formally evicting her and now I want to sue for outstanding debt. How can I begin this process?

Go to the clerk 's office of your local general district court and explain that

you wish to file a warrant for unlawful detainer aginst this delinquent tenant.

Then complete the necessary paperwork there, including a request for

a judgment against this tenant for all unpaid back rents due and owing as well as a writ of possession for the premises.
