Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

Tenant rights

we own an rv in a campground of roughly 500 permanent trailers that we purchased about 1 year ago. The park is located next to the rappahannock river with scenic views for the people who have riverfront or riverview lots,of course you pay extra rent for these premium spaces. You also pay higher prices for these trailers and this is where our problem lies.We paid a premium price for our trailer because of the view knowing it was unobstructed because the ground on the other side toward the river dropped off and it was not possible to put any trailers there. In the off season (winter) when the park is closed they trucked in rocks and dirt and built this area up and are now in the process of putting trailers in that will block most if not all of our view. This will clearly impact our resale value as a result. We feel as if they reached in our pocket and took $10,000 out.Wetalked to them in the office as soon as we saw what was going on and they told us not to get to excited until it was completed but I think they hope we will just let it go,we have asked for a meeting with the owner but he is avoiding us.We also hear he is a jerk and this meeting could get ugly if it ever occurs. He knowingly hurt us financially by doing this .

Re: Tenant rights

More information would be required to respond credibly to this question, and in particular what representations may have been made to you by the seller regarding this issue(if any) at the time of your purchase. And, whether a legal concept in the law known as a view easement(recognized in some jurisdictions such as Oregon) might possibly be applicable to your situation is a matter which would have to be researched.)
