Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia
I have a time share in Fla. I want to rent or sale it. Last January I was called by an outfit called BUY A TIMESHARE.com. Theyconvinced me that they could help me. I was confused at the time and they insisted that if I list my timeshare with them they could accommodate me. After a lot of coercion I gave them my credit card number. two weeks lated a received a contract from the company for me to sign. After reading it I decided not to sign it. However there is one line that says:"Vacation property owner pays a one-time, non recurringand non-refundable advertising fee"
Under this stipulation can I still cancel this purchase. They have billed my bank and yesterday I received my statement with the $500 00 cost. Can I ask my bank not to pay them What are my rights. I am an eighty years old lady who believe what people want me to hear and I get confused a lot. So to get rid of them on the phone I comply. Please, can you help me.

Of course, you can instruct your bank not to pay them. Normally, under the
Virginia Home Sales Solicitation Act, the buyer(victim) has 72 hours to
to cancel a contract derived from a solicitation over the telephone.
For any future such calls, rather than "comply" you should just hang up.
