Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

Timeshare Fraud

My husband and I bought a Timeshare property in Lightfoot, Williamsburg, VA. It was being developed when we bought several years ago. It is still not built and not intended to be built. We want out! We can't get any information on the property and why we are paying for something that we cant sell! It is frustrating not being able to talk with someone in the company about why we dont have a vacation spot that we are paying alot of money. We cant sell it to anyone because nothing is there to visit. NOTHING! We just want out! No more monthly bill! Please give us some hope that we havent been the only one in VA that has been had by this company.

Thank You!

Re: Timeshare Fraud

The scenario you've described, unfortunately, indicates one more reason why time shares are almost never a worthwhile investment, i.e, promises made by the developer/owner rarely measure up to their presale ballyhoo.

If you can find a few more folks like yourselves who appear to have been in effect swindled, you

probably could sue either in state or federal court and get the matter certified as a bonified class action with enough plaintiffs to share in

the costs of mounting the litigation.
