Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

Title in Both Name

My friend brought me a car and put the title in my name and his. We also have a written statement that we both sign saying what i will pay per month. But now we are not seeing each other and he wants the car back even though I am making the payment. Can he get the car back? The Statement was written up between us not the courts. HELP PLEASE

Re: Title in Both Name

One of you, in order to resolve this imbroglio, must agree to buy the other out(or agree to be bought out)---and sign his or her interest over to the other on the back of the car's title.

Anything less than this will invariably mean future trouble over the ownership and right to operate this vehicle.
