Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia
I was just told by my mortgage loan officer that because my wife is not on the loan (FHA) she can not be listed on the Title, is this true legally? If it is, is there a way to protect her for later if anything happens, divorce? death? I don't want to put her in any hardship in either case.

Yes, the mortgagee(lender) can probably impose that as a condition of the loan, but if that's their position, why not have her on the loan?
