Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

If a tracker trailer is in the drivers name, but the lease is held by his mother-in-law, is there anyway to transfer the title to the mother-in-law without the driver's consent?

There seems to be some confusion surrounding this question, i.e,

if a tractor trailer were leased, title to this vehicle should remain with the

leasing agency or company and would not be in the driver's name

although he may have registered the vehicle for licensing purposes in his name.

Therefore, if the above is true, the driver could not play

any role (whether giving or withholding his consent)in transferring title to the vehicle either to his mother in law or to anyone else since he would have none to transfer (in my opinion).
