Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia
Unwanted Houseguest
I am in a 2 bedroom apartment with a room mate and she has decided to allow her boyfriend to stay overnight in our apartment for the past 3 months (minus a few days here and there) with the exception of x-mas, when we were all out of town. We've talked and she's made clear that she doesn't feel she's doing anything wrong. So I called the property and they informed her that 7 straigt days is the limit for non-tenants.Is there a minimum number of nights per month?I need my house back, please help!

Re: Unwanted Houseguest
Your facts for this scenario require further clarification, i.e., what, precisely does that mean, "7 straight days is the limit for non-tenants"?
Seven straight days per month or seven straight days(total)for the entire term of the lease and absolutely no more than that?
Better ask your property manager for further clarification on this issue, and then let her or him further officially inform your roommate. Your potential relief from this situation is likely to be found with the property manager rather than in any state or municipal code.
