Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Virginia

my brother has been accused of molesting my cousin when she was 8 years old, he would've been 11. it is now 10 years later and she is speaking out about it. he swears on his life that he didnt do this to her and says that he will take a polygraph test if he has to. if they find him guilty what should we expect from this?

If formal charges have been filed, your brother needs immediately to hire a competent criminal defense counsel to represent him and he should not be agreeing to take a polygraph test nor talking to anyone about the case except this attorney hired to represent him.
