Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Virginia

Deceased ex-husband's personal photographs of me

My recently deceased ex-husband kept some nude photos of me from approxiamtely 12 years ago. At the ''opening'' of his safe, they were found by his sister and then shown to the other family members. At the viewing I was told they were found and would soon be ''shredded''. Other than the humiliation, do I have any legal rights to these pictures or can any legal action be taken against these ex-inlaws?

If the pictures belonged to your former husband, then no, you would have no viable claim to them unless as part of your divorce settlement he was to have turned over all such material to you and for some reason had failed to do so.

As to your possible recourse against the ex-in-laws for their serendipitous discovery and obvious enjoyment at your expense, I would say that you have none.
