Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Virginia

Dress being offensive to others

I have a part time employee, a 17 year old girl, who is still a senior in high school. She is an excellent employee, bright and hard working and will be leaving in the fall to go to college to study medicine. She dresses a bit more provacatively than some of the women in my office care for. It does not bother the other women in the office. Can I be sued by the unhappy ones for having a hostile work enviroment?

Re: Dress being offensive to others

No, not under the circumstances which you've described, although some delicate sensibilites within your work force may be offended. It will take considerably more than this to make out a prima facie case for a hostile work environment

under current Federal 4th Circuit Court of Appeals law.
