Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Virginia

Rape

Hi,I'm 20 years old and when I was 11 years I was raped. The guy that raped me is my cousin father. He raped me in December 1998 and January 1999. It happened three times. When I came forward in April of 1999 he was already locked up for federal time. They gave him ten years and I don't know how much of that he will do. I know that we had went to court for the charge numerous times and they kept moving him around so he never showed up in court. So they finally said they will have to wait until he finishes his federal time and then they will set a court date for my case, but I called The court house and they said they don't have a date I will have to contact a lawyer. What am I suppose to do? Please help me!Kym

You've apparently been talking with the wrong folks which should be the prosecutor(s)(presumably the "they" to which you keep referring) in the local Commonwealth attorney's office who attempted the first prosecution which later ended being aborted, rather than the clerks in the courthouse.
