Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Virginia

sex based harrassment wrongful termination retaliation

I have filed a claim with the fairfax county human rights agency I was terminated from my job after enduring more then three years of harrasment by my supervisor because I had a child. How long does it normally take to get a ruling and will the ruling help me or should I get an attorney now. Are there attorneys out there who will do these types of cases on a contingency basis? If so how do you find one? I believe I have a good case I just need help.

How Long does it take

I don't know about Virginia, but in New Hampshire it can take over a year to get a ruling. If this is a sexual harassment case then you can after 180 days request a right to sue letter that will allow you to move the case along in Federal court. I recommend getting an attoeny involved sooner rather than later to insure that you don't miss anything and so that you have your lawyer involved in the early strategy. It is often difficult to put together a great trial presentation if the client hires you too late.

I know a couple of lawyers in VA. send me your e-mail and I will e-mail you with their addresses next week when I get in to the office. I would do it now but I don't have it memorized and your e-mail is notposted with your question.

Sex discrimination in Fairfax, VA

I practice employment law in Fairfax and would be interested in talking to about your case. I accept contingent fee cases with a good possibility of success. The EEOC process would take approximately 6 to 12 months. It would definitely be in your best interest to retain counsul at the earliest possible date, preferably before filing a claim. Please give me a call if you are interested. (703)281-2161.
