Legal Question in Social Security Law in Virginia
Time limits
I applied for social security disability in may 2002, after many forms filled out, a ss doctor visit, I was told a response was due in ten days, this was in november 2002. I called and was told my case had been sent to federal office in Philadelphia for review. What exactly does that mean...good or bad sign? The caseworker said he could tell me nothing. I just want a yes or no answer, i realize most are denied at this level. Please help.
Thank you very much.

Re: Time limits
Social Security does not have any set time limit for them to process anything. Sometimes it helps to speed things up if you contact your congressman. I don't want to give you false hope but I find that being sent to philadelphia for review is usually a good sign but no guarantee. Good luck.
