Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia
16 year old reckless driving
My boyfriend was recently in a car accident. We were in bumper to bumper traffic. We approached a hill and did not see the car stopped just beyond it. He slammed on the brakes, but could not stop in time, due to the fact that his brakes may not be working properly. We hit the suburban in front of us, which did not have much damage, but it then hit the car in front of it, and that car had to be towed away. No one was seriously injured, and everyone went home okay. He's only 16, and he got 2 tickets for reckless driving and passenger restriction. He does not have the money to hire an attorney, let alone pay for the tickets. What should he do?

Re: 16 year old reckless driving
Reckless driving is a criminal offense
(Class 1 misdemeanor)in the Commonwealth. If your boyfriend cannot afford to hire an attorney, he should request that the court appoint one to represent him on these quite serious traffic charges.
