Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia
Accident
I was taking a left on to a 4 lane road speed limit 35. To avoid being hit by a speeder. I back back to the road I came off of. Someone had pulled up to the Stop sign. I backed into him. Very minor accident. He jumps out of his car and wants my name and number and writes my tag down. Then gets back in his car and leaves before I can get his information. What kind of trouble can I be in? The law was not called. I went straight to my Insurance company. This happened 3 Days ago at 3:15 pm.

Re: Accident
Well, as long as this person you backed in to wasn't writhing on the ground complaining of a supposedly whiplashed neck or injured vertebrae, you're probably not in any major trouble---at least not yet, as of 9:55pm, February 10, 2008.
