I need to know if acrylic clear license plate covers are elegal in the state of

I would like to know if acrylic clear license plate covers are elegal in the state of Va.? For the simple fact I was pulled over which was said that was the reason it turned out to be a unlawful stop but the police never used me a ticket. Is there any thing I can do about this?

Any covering for the license plate should be legal as long as it in no way impairs or obscures the visibility of any of the letters or numerals

or combination thereof on the plate itself.

The answer to your second question is, no, there is nothing at this point which you can realistically do about what you believe to have been an unlawful stop by the police which occurred some time in the past.
