Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia

Is there any course of action I can take as an Identity theft victim. My purse was stolen, and I recently found out someone used my license and was pulled over three times within a week. My license was suspended at the time, and driving in the state of Virginia on a suspended license can carry a jail sentence.

If you are the innocent victim of identity theft and consequently have been unfairly charged with driving while suspended, you should bring evidence to court in support of your claims to the attention of the prosecutor assigned to your case on the morning before your case is called and request that it be dismissed with prejudice.

File a criminal complaint as to purse being stolen when they catch the person. As to court, do you have alibi? Did you notify anyone of loss of purse? Attempt contact with Commonwealth. Put on trial if that does not work. In some jursidictions the Commonwealth may not speak with you. It probably would be better if you had representation by qualified attorney.
