Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia
Could I be charged in any way for an accident on private property which I was not involved in based on a witness statement saying I was? The damage to the other car was minimal and none of the evidence shows it was me. There was also paint transfer that was completely different from the color of my vehicle. The officer said she may charge me for leaving the scene of an accident.

Yes, of course, you could be charged, but whether the Commonwealth would
have sufficiently credible evidence to convict you would be quite another matter.
