Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia

My daughter received a ticket for following too close ticket after hitting a vehicle in front of her. She had to stop behind a pickup truck in front of her stopped for 2 vehicles making an illegal left hand turn. My daughter was then bumped in the rear of her car by a car that left the scene. She said she would probably have bumped the vehicle in front of her but when she was hit the impact was worse. She was not speeding. Is there is any way to get her released from this summons?

Your daughter(or her attorney) should explain it all first to the prosecutor assigned to the case, and, if the matter is not then nolle prossed(dismissed), she should take it to trial and make the Commonwealth prove its case against her.
