Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia
Deferred disposition / Continued - definitions
An attorney attended court on my behalf. The court case information online now shows result ''CONTINUED'' and continuance code ''DEFERRED DISPOSITION''.
What do these mean? First time having a ticket. Unfamiliar with court in general and USA laws.
Thank you.

Re: Deferred disposition / Continued - definitions
It means, probably, that the attorney succeeded
in getting the court to continue the case (perhaps, indefinitely)and that at some future time, it could well be dismissed if you commit no further infractions.
Assuming that you paid this defense counsel a fair sum of money for this representation, why hasn't he/she enlightened you on this matter?
