Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia
Driving without a license
If you are caught driving without a license, what is the best defense? The license was never suspended, just never had one. Is it necessary to get a lawyer?

Re: Driving without a license
You were seriously injured and there was noone around who could drive you to the ER or a similar mitigating circumstance, i.e., the defense of extreme necessity. Otherwise, very likely, there is no "best defense".
And, yes, you should have a lawyer representing you since operating a vehicle without a license is a class 2 misdemeanor offense in the Commonwealth and carries a possible penalty of up to six months in the local slammer and a fine of up to $1000, either or both.
