Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia

Driving on Restricted Liense

IHave be given a restricted liense to drive to work only. One night before going to work my daughter 17 years old that does not live with me was visting me at my apartment. It had gotten late and close to the time for me to go to work. Her mother had not yet picked her up so I told her I would take her back home on my way to work. I was stoped becasue the officer said it took me a while before turning on my head lights, I was driving with my fog lights on only for a few seconds. He found that I was driving on a restricted license. It was a Sat. night I told him I was on my way to take my daughter home. I did tell him about my hours that I was allowed to drive. At the time I did not have the paper work from the courts stating that information. Now I do. What type of information should I have before going before the judge, and should I get a lawyer? The restriction was given to me bacause I had a car accident and was cought with a gun and a small amount of drugs. The gun was in a safeybox in my car. The drug charges were droped. I was told to go to AA meetings, probation for one year restricted driving license for six months driving to and from work only. I work two jobs one job is from 11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. The other from 12:00

Re: Driving on Restricted Liense

Bring the paperwork having to do with the restrictions to your scheduled hearing on this new charge and show it to the prosecutor before court commences. (He or she may then decide to dismiss the new charge.)

You should not need an attorney for this if all that you claim is true.
