Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia

Driving with a Suspended License

If you are caught driving with a suspended license and you were not informed of the suspension, and you go to court and the court finds you guilty. If your license is furthure more suspended can you get a restricted license if you have a job, attend school, and have children and expecting another and have no way to take care of business for the duration of the suspension. Also is suspension of license, 30 days jail term suspended, driving clinic, fines, and community service a little harsh for a first time offender again who was not informed of the suspension?

Re: Driving with a Suspended License

It would appear that you have a significant defense by not being notified of your suspension. You should be able to have the case dismissed upon siging an acknowledgment that your license has been suspended.

Make an appointment with an attorney immediately to discuss the case.
