Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia

Failure to Provide proof of insurance

I live in Virginia and I was in a Car accident in late January. At the time of the accident i did not have my car insurance information on hand and was written up for ''Failure to Provide proof of insurance''. Come to find out that i still had my insurance in effect and i quickly called up the state cop who cited me and gave him a copy of my insurance. My question is when my court date arrives will they drop the charge since i do have insurance and that all damage were covered? or will there still be a fine?

At the time of the incident i was pretty nervous and flustered cause this was my first car accident. Any ideas of helpful advice would be great.

Re: Failure to Provide proof of insurance

Yes, if you appear at your scheduled hearing with proof that you had the required insurance at the time of the accident, the charge will be dropped.
