Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia
No Fault Auto Accident
8 months ago, while driving the company truck, I was involved in an accident, truck is covered by insurance I just received a letter stating a collection against me was seriously past due from the other vehicle's insurance company. I do not feel obligated to pay, I feel that this should be handled by the company, why are they coming after me?

Re: No Fault Auto Accident
Typically speaking, plaintiffs sue the person who was dirving the truck (although sometimes they sue everyone in sight). They then let insurance and the employer sort it out.
So if you were within your scope of employment, you may have to turn around and demand it from your employer and/or employer's insurance company.
For example whwere a driver has insurance, the plaintiff sues the driver not the insurance company. The insurance company stands behind the driver.
You may need to provide notice to your employer's insurance company in order to activate coverage, and it might need to be done soon to avoid losing coverage.
Re: No Fault Auto Accident
Well, why not ask the company(your employer)and their insurance carrier exactly what was covered in this accident in terms of the insurance?
