Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia
HOV Lane
I was headed west out of Falls Church and mistakenly entered I66 West and was pulled over on the on ramp. All I remember is seeing so many signs leading up to this that I was thoroughly confused about what leads where and what restrictions apply where. Don't they have a responsibility to plainly mark HOV entrances and is it worth going to court to make this case?
Secondarily, I began researching the authority for this and found that the Commonwealth Tras. Board is responsible for designating signage requirements for HOV lane (33.1-46.2). I can't find where (or if) the CTB has done this and wonder if they have (or if so if these signs meet their requirement).
Any help is appreciated.

Re: HOV Lane
Sure, it might be well worth it for you to go to traffic court and make your case to the judge regarding the lack of traffic signage sufficient to avoid the kind of confusion which apparently resulted in your being ticketed for an HOV violation. (The fine for such violation is now around
$100, is it not, even if no points are assessed against your license/)
