Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia
Is it illegal for a child to ride in the front seat of a car? My car only has room for 4 people, and I have two children already, with a baby soon to arrive.

Assuming that the child is under eight years of age, the child must be placed in a restraint device, e.g. safety or booster seat which complies with the child passenger safety law standards promulgated by the Virginia Department of Transportation.
