Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia
I am an immigrant ticketed in fairfax county, VA for speeding 68/55 under 46.2.830 and the ticket shows arrest date. Is this a criminal offense that would affect my immigration process. I dont want to have arrest record. Can I contest?

No, the charge as you've cited it should qualify as a traffic infraction
rather than as a criminal misdemeanor offense and therefore should have no
bearing whatsoever on your immigration status.
And, yes, of course, you could contest it, but it might
make more sense under these facts for you to agree to plead guilty to driving at 59 mph in a 55 mph zone if the prosecutor is willing
to reduce the charge to the foregoing as suggested.
