Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia
Invalid/no state license
Ticket received while parked in Metro parking lot for having 07/07 decals displayed. I had a valid temporary vehicle registration but was awaiting stickers via mail. If I contest it, will it be thrown out or will I still have to pay fine and court costs?

Re: Invalid/no state license
Assuming that you received the ticket after 07/31/2007, and that you had a valid temporary vehicle registration, you should contest the matter by going to court on the day scheduled for the hearing and show the prosecutor assigned to your case your documentary proof that the vehicle was covered by a proper temporary vehicle registration, that the vehicle now has proper current registration and that consequently the ticket should be dimsissed.
