Left turn accident by a minor
My 17 year old son looked left then right at an intersection onto a two lane road. He looked left then right, failing to look back left. However he says the first time he looked left no one was there. The other party said they were going 35, the zone is a 50mph zone. What can he do to get out of this situation? Is there anything I can have him do before his court date? He's a good child, I don't want him having -4 points on his liscence. The officer was nice and only ticketed him for failure to yield the right of way. Thank you.

There's really nothing special your son can or

should do for this court date other than show up

on time ,and, when his case is called, offer to plead guilty with an explanation.(Unfortunately,

the judge has no control over the points that the DMV will assess against your son's driving record

once they are informed of the conviction.)

Given the set of facts which you have described, there would appear to be no credible defense to the charge.
