Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia
I live in NC and got a ticket in Emporia VA. I was charged with 78/65. Should I drive 2 hours to go to court and ask for a prayer for judgement or just pay the ticket?

Prayers for judgment are not recognized in the Commonwealth. Better pay the ticket.

You could pay the ticket, or you could also appear and try to get some alternative disposition, such as driving school, and the ticket would be dismissed. In some localities, you can hire an attorney to appear for you and get some deal worked out for an alternative disposition and, since you hired a lawyer, you don't need to be there. I don't know if this jurisdiction will work with you in this regard, so a local attorney would be the best bet for info.
