Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia
Live in NC - Ticket in NC
I am a NC resident and received a speeding ticket on I-81 in Montgomery County (Virginia). The officer marked me down for 80 in a 65 (radar). Does VA have a prayer for judgment option? Is this something that can be reduced? I haven't had any moving violations since Aug 2002 and just moved to NC from VA.

Re: Live in NC - Ticket in NC
You would need to speak with a Virginia attorney. If you have a clean record for three years, then a reduction to a 74 in a 65 will work for you as far as having no insurance consequences in NC. Also, maybe Virginia has non moving violations so you would definitely want to speak with an attorney there.
