Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia
Hi, I missed a court date for driving without a valid license in VA.
Now, a capias is issued, and it says Type 1-Misdemenor for failing to appear, code section 19.2-218.
What can I do? Will police barge in, do I turn myself in, or go to the court on said court date (2/7, 9:30 AM)?

Yes. contact your local sheriff's or police department to arrange for self-surrender.
Assuming that the local judicial officer reviewing the matter agrees to release
you on bond, make sure that you show up for your scheduled court hearing.
Since a Class 1 misdemeanor is a potentially jailable offense, if
at all possible, you should have a competent criminal defense counsel representing you in these matters.
