Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia
Moving Out of State
My boyfriend recently was in court for driving on a suspended license. Because of a mix-up, he missed his second court date and was given a Failure to Appear. We've since moved out of state. What will happen if he misses the date for Failure to Appear? Will he ever be able to reinstate his driver's license, even if we never go back to Virginia?

Re: Moving Out of State
If your boyfriend retains a Virginia attorney, the lawyer may be able to settle the matter with
the local office of Commonwealth's Attorney without him having to return to Virginia.
It's possible that the court having responsibilty for the matter might issue a capias or arrest warrant for his FTA(Failure to Appear).
