Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia
Overdue inspection ticket
I received a ticket for an overdue inspection. My truck was 1 week past the due date, and I had it inspected the following day. When I checked online, I was given an option to prepay the fine. The total came to $91. This seems excessive, but I haven't had a ticket in a long time, so maybe this is about right. My question is, if I go to court, and show my inspection receipt, will it be to my advantage? I'm willing to make the court appearance, but am wondering if these fines are standard and I'll just end up paying the same amount - or worse yet, even more!

Re: Overdue inspection ticket
Yes, if you can produce your current inspection
receipt at your scheduled hearing, the traffic court judge will most likely dismiss the ticket.
