Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia

I was practicing driving last weekend, with my mother in law - I just have with me a learners permit. Accident occured, when I was trying to make a left turn from where I was practicing in the other subdivision I damaged the 2 fences of two different people.Talked to them and settled it, and the insurance will pay for the damages. Now, I am told by the officer to appear on June 25 on the court. but I would like to request the court office to have the speedy trial/ earlier schedule. How's that? What are the fro's and con's if I decide on speedy tiral? Thanks!

Forget about adjusting your day in court for the purpose of

a "speedier trial". Your day already set for trial is as speedy as it's likely to get.

Courts these days (particularly traffic courts) usually have large dockets to juggle and must coordinate a number of considerations, including the availabilty of the ticketing officer when setting hearing dates.

If a defendant in a case does in fact need to adjust his or her hearing date for

a traffic case for credible and persuasive reasons, any new date selected with the agreement of the prosecutor and the court will almost invariably be AFTER rather than BEFORE the original hearing date set for the case.
