Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia
Price caps on Towing fees?
Are there legal policies related to Towing
businesses? Can such business charge
whatever they deem appropriate for the recovery of
vehicle owned by ''customer?'' Are they liable for
damages even if they say they are not after the
fact?

Re: Price caps on Towing fees?
Towing companies, usually, are regulated by local
ordinances, including a cap on the maximum that they can charge. Arlington Co.,Virginia, for example, limits the maximum to $96, I believe, and
yes, notwithstanding their protestations to the contrary, these companies are liable for damages caused by their negligence.
