Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia
I was pulled over for speeding and was told I had to show up for court. The officer wrote the ticket court appearance date as March 14, 2014 at 8:30 am. Obviously a mistake on the date/year. Should I appear tomorrow and Is this grounds for a dismissal? or should I wait until March 14,2014 to appear?

Yes, you need to appear tomorrow, and, no, simple typos on a ticket or summons are not (normally) grounds for dismissal of the case as the prosecutor can easily correct them on the day of the hearing.
Furthermore, if you were to attempt to wait until March 14, 2011, before darkening the entrance to the courthouse, you could find yourself in handcuffs long before that date and headed for the local slammer to "cool your heels"
a bit before being released on bond.
Correction: prior answer should read March 14, 2014 rather than March 14, 2011.
