RADAR: does it have to be locked on target for specific amount of time

Does va. law require the that radar has to be locked on the target for any specific time before it can be permissable in court. If so how long on each type of radar.

There is no requirement under VA law, in fact, quite the contrary. An object only has to "pass through" the beam. There are other qualifications that must be met for successful admission of the result, i.e. radar check on and off at the beginning and end of the officer's patrol, and calibration with the vehicle the officer is operating.

I am not aware of any such requirement under Virginia law.
