Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia
I recently received a speeding ticket going 42 in the 25 zone.
While I do not dispute my guilt, I would like to change the charge from speeding to "failure to give full time and attention" Reason - it carries no points in Virginia
What would be my best option? Plead guilty with explanation? How to best word it in front of the judge?
Thank you.

Agreeing to plead guilty to 34mph in the zone restricted to 25 mph
would appear to be more realistic. However, before making
such an offer, you should first attempt to find out from the individual representing the Commonwealth(whether the ticketing police officer or assistant commonwealth's attorney) in the matter, whether you
might attend a court-approved driver's improvement course in lieu
of pleading guilty.
