Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia
It recently snowed here and the roads were pretty bad and as I was coming home from work my car slide down a hill and i went into the ditch. I left my car there and had a friend that was going to come tow it out for me but when i returnd my car had already been towed. The towing company said the cops okay'd my car to get towed and they charged me 400 to get it back I feel I was charged way to much. And they also tore my gear shifter up. Is there anything i can do about this?

Yes there may be and to find out you could schedule an appointment
for a brief consultation with a local attorney who handles traffic and
related matters in the area and who should be able to advise you as to
the legality of the $400 towing fee and any recourse that you may have
for the damaged gear shift.(Keep in mind that there may be a local
ordinance which allows towing outfits to charge this kind of seemingly
exorbitant fee for removing stranded vehicles during extreme weather
conditions.)
